How to back up my folders with a pin drive?

I want to be able to back up my email folders on a pin drive. I have tried
to do so, and they appear to transfer to the pin drive, but I have not been
able to actually open the backed-up folders from the pin drive. My local tech
suppoort does not know the solution.
