How to bind document with picture with relative references

Word 2007
Situation
1. Task: Large user-guide for some software product, so it has many pictures
(including screen-shots)
2. Pictures managed by another author and we need store it as standalone
files, so we can update them simply
3. We use shared folder (no difrences is it simple win-share, groove, ftp,
or sharepoint) to keep our work
4. So, in Word document I want to use linked (not embeded) pictures with
RELATIVE REFERENCES

Problem
1. Default Insert->Picture->Link file - includes pictures with full file
reference, so document is looked well only on my computer or on the computers
whit same folder structure.
2. When I Pressed Alt-F9 i didn't see pictures as {INCLUDEPICTURE field,
them remains pictures in view
3. Tryed to insert fields with relative references by Insert->Express Blocks
-> Field->INCLUDEPICTURES and catch 2 problems:
3a. WARRNING - it's no possible to copy field in document - after
"copy-paste" it inserts picture, not field INCLUDEPICTURE - so every picture
must be inserted throw full visual interface path
3b. ERROR - after saving and opening fields became invalid - they have
ABSOLUTE PATHS and wrong dialog options after opening in field editor (file
hided)

SO
{INCLUDEPICTURE "image.png" \d \x \y \* MERGEFORMAT}
became
{INCLUDEPICTURE \d "E:\\full\\large\\folder\\path\\image.png" \*
MERGEFORMATINET}

It's very bad and i think to stop use Word for such tasks...
