how to burn ppt slideshow in portrait orientation

I made a PPT slideshow with pictures in a Portrait layout in a portrait
orientation. Can it be burnt to DVD in this format? I have tried by using
PPT2DVD and the pictures look great on the PC but on the DVD they are
distorted. I have tried changing the orientation to landscape but then the
pictures are distorted on the pc and subsequently the dvd.

The problem you're seeing has everything to do with Aspect Ratio.

When recording your presentation to video, you'll need to make sure to a dvd
resolution of 720x480.

You'll want to record your presentation with the "black bars" on the left
and right of the presentation. It's best if you use a product that will
allow you to compensate for the Aspect Ratio difference.
