Have W2K Pro, O2K Pro, all "latest" Service Packs (Office 2K SP3).
No longer have access to network location for office install location
(source).
Never had the Source CD (and we "IT people and me" forgot this, did get W2K
CD and licence and other software, but didn't have a CD to give, always used
network location. Now no longer can. These are just security patches...
believe there are others after these... Have tried Full-File versions, etc.
Seems to install okay, then asks at end for the Source CD, must press Cancel
and whole thing backs out and fails. This also causes (has always caused)
MBSA to forever say "Severe Risk".
1. Access 2000 Snapshot Viewer Security Patch, KB826292
2. Excel 2000 Security Patch, KB830349
3. Office 2000 Security Patch, KB822035
4. Office 2000 Wordperfect 5.x Converter Security Patch, KB824993
5. Word 2000 Security Patch, KB830347
Has been suggested problem is something unrelated, such as some file no
module or product version or something. No real problem (I know of), other
than the implied security risks. No one has been able to say or help with
what is really wrong (why won't install without source) nor how to by-pass
(in MBSA, etc).
Have posted before, but hope for insight now...
