How to cancel italic in Equation

Hi, there,

When I input some equations in WORD by Microsoft Equation, some word will
become italic automatically. For example, when I input "Prob", the "ob" will
become italic automatically. Could someone tell me how can I cancel this
automatic operation so that the word is in normal style? Thanks,

I'm not an expert in Equation, but I think I know what is happening here.

The fraction Pr of Prob is recognised as a function, so this is separated
out (you will see a space between Pr and ob). This leaves ob which Equation
thinks is a variable.

If you select Style | Define from the menus while editing an equation you
will there be able to set the styles for functions and variables, amongst
other things.

This still leaves the problem of splitting out function names. If you
regularaly type text into Equation (perhaps as explanation, or introduction
to an equation), then words like single will be split into sin and gle, as
sin is recognised as a function.

Either avoid such words, or when this happens select the two bits of the
word (sin and gle, in my example, and Pr and ob in yours), then select Style
| Text from the menu to change them into a single word with the style you
have chosen for text.

I hope this is some help - sorry about the time to reply - just seen this.
