how to change currency

When i installed my excel i put spanish and now when i put the currency sign it puts it at the end of the number (like in spain) and not in mexico where i live or the US how can i change it to Us currency without having to format the page or the cells every time?

XL picks up currency formats from the System Preferences (International
Pane). Set the format the way you want, then close and restart XL.
