how to change fields in task manager VIEW

there are two columns for dates (start and finish), but these don't track
the REAL dates, just the ones you put in to begin with. how to you change
which ones you see?

also, how do you default the date to "as soon as possible"???

this is the only tool i haven't tuned to my liking. any help would be
greatly appreciated.

From the description, I am really not clear what's your issue. Do you mean
the fields in the Form Tool, or other things?
