How to change linked file path

C

CutMaster

Hi,

I've several documents that use linked files to include
some .doc texts that must change often.
My problem is that, when we made those documents, the
linked file path were "\\server\pages\include1.doc" and
now it's "\\newserver\pages\includes\include1.doc".

Is there any way to change the linked file without doing
a :
block delete, Insert, File, choosing file,
clicking "insert and link"

??
Thanks for your reply...

Regards...

CutMaster, don't know if either of these is much better, but here are two
possibilities:

1-Edit > Links > Change Source. Browse to the new location, select the file
name, then Open > OK.

or

2-Right-click the linked file and select Toggle field codes. When the field
code appears, correct the linked file path, then press F9.

I'd do this globally for the whole file: Show field codes via Tools |
Options | View, and then do a find/replace.

If the number of files which contain these links is really large, a
batch-replace-mechanism might be helpful.
