How to change Me in contacts?

Ken Spiker

I've duplicate entries of my name in Contacts. If I go to delete one of them
I get an error message that says that entry is designated as "Me" and to
select another entry in the contact menu and designate that as Me. I can
select another entry, but I don't see the menu where you designate it as Me.
Can you help?

Hi Ken,

The contact has to be in your local address book. Highlight a contact and
choose ³This contact is me² under the Contact menu.

Hallo Rebecca, thanx for the reply. But this is the problem I had. I go to
Address Book in the Contacts Toolbar and there's a window that has a list of
the contacts. I can select one, but I don't see the "Contacts Menu" you refer
to. At the top of the Office Address Book pane appears: Name, Company, Work
Phone, Catagories, Projects. At the bottom is Use and a list, Default
Address, Work Address and Home Address. That's all. Now I'm pretty good at
looking right something and not seeing it, so bear with me, but I can't find
it! I can open the edit pane which has other buttons but I don't see it there
either.

Hi Ken,

This is off the main menu bar ¡°Entourage | File | Edit | View and so on¡±. It
sounds like you may not be in the Entourage application, which is where you
need to change the ¡°Me¡± contact!

Thanks,
Rebecca

Rebecca,

Yes it's there. I fixed it. I must say, at the risk of hurting Microsoft's
feelings, that I don't use Entourage for my email. I'm sure Entourage is a
very good email applicaton. But I use the Address Book in Word frequently to
address envelopes. To have to open another application in order to access
these Address Book options is a (minor) pain, and irrational in my opinion. .
However, thank you for the help.

Ken
