How to change server location in excel imported data query

C

Carolanne :)

ingI have approximately 30 reports generated in excel from our client data
base. The database has recently been moved to a stand alone server (T).
Obviously, the excel queries I originally created all have a path directing
them to the old server (F). How do I change the server path, without have to
re-do all those reports. Please help, I'm at my wits end.

If the are 'flat' table imports from Data>Get external data then go to edit
query which should get you back into MSQuery. In there change to SQL view
and change the path to the server and save. You will need to do this in all
30 files, but the reports will now work with the original data

If you have pivot tables post back

Thanks Nick. I had originally tried that but it wouldn't accept it as I was
giving it too much information - new server path and database name. Its
sorted now thankfully, I couldn't face a week of re-creating those reports,
especially as this server is only temporary!

Thanks again.
