How to change style on your cross reference

Does any of you know how to change the style on all the
cross references in the entire document? I know that in
Options you can choose if the cross reference should have
Field shadings, but can you automatically for instance
make the cross reference look like a Hyperlink? Or do I
have to make a new style and apply that style manually to
all the cross references in the document (I have a lot of
cross references!)?

Lisa,

cross-references take on the style characteristics of the
paragraph in which they are inserted. You cannot directly
edit the style, but you can create a character style for
your cross-references and use the field search key (^d) to
find them. Before executing the search, toggle the field
codes ON by pressing Alt F9. When your system locates a
cross reference, leave the search open and apply the
character style you established to it.
