How to change the default task due date in Outlook 2007

Michael Kurtz

Can I set the default due date for tasks in Outlook 2007 to "None".
Most of the tasks I create do not require a due date.
The default seem to be "Today"

How are you creating the tasks? My default start and due dates are None.
The only way I can get a default date is by entering it in the type a new
tasks field in the to-do bar.

Diane,
I type the tasks into the blank line at the top of the To Do List and it
automaticly adds the due date as today. I noticed that if I create the tasks
using the new task button, the default due date is none. Very strange.

that's the behavior I'm seeing too. Except mine are due tomorrow. That’s
probably based on the default quick flag - my default is tomorrow. Yep - in
a quickie test, the to-do task list picks up the quick flag time. You can
set the quick flag to None or use buttons or shortcuts to open task forms.

Just to clarify what Diane wrote below, the "quick flag" that sh
referred to is the "Quick Click" flag.

One way to set/change your Quick Click setting:

1) Right click the Flag icon of an item (email message, task, etc.)
(note: you will need to be in a view that displays the Flag Statu
column)

2) Click "Set Quick Click..."

3) Select "No Date" from the dropdown list

4) Click OK

That's it!

Thanks for your help on this, Diane! This had been vexing me sinc
upgrading to Outlook 2007.
