how to change the look of a picture as a watermark

I have a pictures and want to use it as a slide template for Power point, but
need to change its look. I need it to look as a watermark backgroung picture.

You can open it in any image editing program and change it to suit your tastes.

Or you can insert the picture onto the slide master in PowerPoint and use the
picture formatting tools to make it look like a watermark.

How? That depends on the version of PowerPoint you have.
