How to change my Mac exel so that it does not use dots as decimal
separator and commas as separator for thousands? I would require it to
be the other way a round. As you can imagine it is a litle annoying
when the excel does not understand the local way of handeling numbers.

XL takes its decimal separator and thousands separator from the System
Preferences/International Pane. Change them there, quit and restart XL
for the change to take effect.

There have been occasional reports of that not working correctly in some
Mac OS/Office language combinations. Make sure, whichever version of Mac
OS and Office you're using, that they're updated fully.
