How to change toolbar orientation in Word 2004

Q

QuinFiction

In creating a custom toolbar, the default orientation is vertical even tho
the standard toolbars are horizontal. How to I change my custom toolbars to
appear horizontal with the others...or create a new toolbar that is
horizontal?

Just drag the triangular area at the bottom right of the toolbar 45 degrees
up to the right (i.e., "north-east"). The toolbar will change shape. Adjust
to taste.

Once you add the first item to a new toolbar just make sure you drag the
next item to the left or right of the first one, not above or below it.
(Look for the blue insertion bar to be V, not H.) That determines the
direction the bar will "grow".
