how to change WEBBOT-SELF

Andrew Murray

The action string you stated below
(action=http://us.1.p7.webhosting.yahoo.com) doesn't seem to do anything (it
is a normal web page; I can browse to it in a browser and get the Yahoo
hosting services home page). You need the URL to the form processor script
that Yahoo provides or use the FP server extensions (which is what the
"webbot--self" thing is).

Any code that frontpage generates through its wizards etc (like
action="webbot-self") will not be able to be changed by hand;if it changed,
it will revert back to what it was when the page is saved. You can change
to a custom script through the form properties, but not changing it as you
said you've done. To use a custom script (CGI, PHP, ASP etc) you have to
change the 'action' through the form properties.

Double check with Yahoo, since they should have provided the URL to their
form processor script, which doesn't apear to be the above URL.

You need script like The url will be something like
http://www.yahoo.com/cgi-bin/formmail.cgi or similar. Another script such as
a PHP or ASP or Perl (CGI) script could be used, depending on your host's
operating system, and how flexible Yahoo are with letting you use
third-party scripts.

The remote host must configure the forms to email transport for your account
in the FrontPage server extensions. If they support it. Reports are that
Yahoo does not. You'll need to contact them.
