how to check a corrupted Word File

Alex Cheng

Hi there,

Is there a way to check a .doc file is corrupted before opening it.
Because once I tried to open, the Winword will hang and I had to kill the
process to end it.

Thanks,

Alex

Yup, I've tried. It will prompt me a message that saying the
file is bad and ask me if I want to continue. I just need a way to
programatically bypass the prompt with "No". Any thought.

Thanks,

Alex

Yes, I have a thought. I supplied it in another thread you started on this same
topic. I'd need a corrupted document to test the thought, but would be curious if
you have enough info now to run with it yourself? (Let's contain further discussion
to a single thread, though, okay?)

No, not yet. Can you let know how? Unfortunately, I can't
send the file to you because it contains medical data in it.

Thanks,

Alex

Well, yes, I did. In the other thread. I see that response is now available here,
too.

I understand. Do you know how to corrupt a document?
