how to close dialog box

Every time I tried to close my computer I get the message I can't close word
before first closing a dialog box, I don't think I have one open, how do I
get rid of it

What version of Word? What version of Windows? What does the error
message say exactly?

If you are using Symantec/Norton AntiVirus, try disabling the Office
Plugin that comes with it (but don't disable Norton AutoProtect). See
