how to completely remove bcm - beta

S

Skiph

I was a beta tester for BCM and no longer have the discs. I am trying to
install a new 03 product (offiice 03 with BCM) which I recently purchased and
the bcm will not install, as it says I have an older version on the system.
I have tried to remove it from the control panel, but get a fatal error every
time and it does not uninstal. I tried going into the registry and take out
everything that has msbcm or bcm, but still can not get it off the system in
order to install the new version, and the new version keeps telling me about
the old verson and it won't install the new one until the old one is gone--
This seems to be the perfect 'catch-22'.
please advise.
thanks,
S

Skiph,
Save your files / reinstall your Windows version / install Office 2003 w BCM
since you "tried" to manually edited the registry.

I do not have the original disc's, tossed them long ago. The registry will
not allow the new one to install until the old one is gone, but it asks for
the original discs. Pretty dumb!
I searched on bcm and msbcm, and found the number coded into the registry
and removed the entire file manually. It finally was removed from all
registry elements.

Did you also browse the hard drive and remove the BCM folders? You'll have
some in Documents and Settings.. remember to remove the database folder -
oh, and the BCM database service.
