Both 2003 SharePoint products (SharePoint Portal Server 2003 and Windows
SharePoint Services - MS Project Server 2003 usually uses Windows SharePoint
Services) require the use of SQL Server 2K (or MSDE 2.0, which in the case
of WSS comes in the form of a less restricted WMSDE).

Neither is able to use Oracle as the database.

Both can however via web parts access information in Oracle and disply it -
but that's a completely different matter.

Anna:

You can use the Project Client to save projects to an Oracle database. That
much you can do. Project Server and WSS are not compatible with Oracle.
