how to convert a list to Excel

Hello

I have a list - with some extra blank lines here and there= -- how can
I convert this list to a normal spreadsheet?

I have used an old program called InfoMaker in os9 days --wondering if
there is something in Excel that I don't know that could also do the same

Want to make a .xls with ranking in column a - name in column B etc
etc...so I could search it...
