how to convert from .doc to docBook.xml

hi guys!

Can you help with solving my problem that occured in my job...

I need to convert whole documentation that is done in WORD documents to
DocBook format.

i don't know XML yet but i don't have s much time to learn it all.... how to
do it in the easiest way and quite fast??
are there any scripts or free programs for windows that let me convert .doc
files to xml??

i'd be gratefull for any response

Hi Greg,

You didn't mention what version of Word you are using. Word 2003
has XML capabilities built in, but it can be a bit of work to
use a DocBook formatted output

There are several approaches, including using 3rd party converters
but you may want to check with the folks in the Office XML newsgroup
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.office.xml
as well as the DocBook Wiki for an approach that may work for your
scenario.
