Actually, if you only need to do one or two sheets, you can do it manually
(File/Save as.../select "Tab-delimited text file" from the drop-down menu).
I wrote a macro that steps through each sheet in a file and converts them
one by one. I had to convert hundreds of sheets, so the macro saved me tons
of time. Each sheet has to be saved separately, since .txt files don't
recognize sheets. Hope this helps.

Can't help ya on the .pdf thing.
