How to copy E-Mail account info from OL2000 to OL2002?

T

Tom Sawyer

I have nearly 50 e-mail accounts on a Office 2000 system that I would like to
load into my Offcie 2002 system without typeing each of them in.

In Outlook 2000's tool->E-Mail Accounts edit dialog, you can export the
account information for each account to a "Internet Account File" (*.iaf) and
then import each file into Outlook 2000 that is on a different system. This
makes it easy to migrate between or copy to different computers.

I can not find a similar function in Outlook 2002. Any hints?

Thanks,

Tom

That was a feature of Internet mode and not supported in other versions or
Corp mode. Your best bet is to get a backup program. See

Diane,

Thank's for the prompt reply.

Is Internet mode not available in Outlook 2002? If it is, how do I get back
into Internet mode. (I didn't intend to change modes!)

Thanks again,

Tom

PS - I just discoverd I can't find a way to sort the address book by last
name. Is that a change in OL2002 also?

Thanks,

T

Outlook 2002 and later don't have (or need) modes.

Tools>Options>Mail Setup>Reconfigure

Brian,

There is no Tools>Options>Mail Setup>Reconfigure. When I go to
Tools>Options>Mail Setup>Reconfigure the sections available are E-mail
Accounts, Send/Receive, Data Files and Dial-up. The E-mail Accounts button
navigates to the regular process to setup or modify E-mail accounts. The
Send/Recive button navigates to a screen to change the options for
send/receive groups. The Data Files button navigates to a screen to change
the location of your .pst file.

I'm logged in as an administrator.

Is this screen in Outlook 2003 or is it someplace else in Outlook 2002?

Thanks,

Tom

Outlook 2002 supports both modes at once, so there is nothing to
reconfigure. The feature was removed from later versions.

That's in Outlook 2000. I thought you were asking how to change your OL
2000 back to Internet Mail Only mode.

OK Everbody,

I gave up -- I re-installed Outlook 2000. I hope it works well with Office
XP, if not, I'll go back to Office XP.

Thanks for your help.
