When currently attempting to download general stock quotes from any internet
source using Web Query from within an Excel 2000 spreadsheet, I get an
unable to open error message which includes,"The Internet site reports that a
connection was established but the data is not available". These are not
sites requiring registration or passwords. I can access each site though, by
manually typing in the address in my Internet Explorer Browser. Earlier
attempts to use the Web Query function did work O.K. I have since reinstalled
Office 2000, reinstalled a full hard drive ghost image (Norton) of a prior
time when the Query did work in an attempt to correct situation, all to no
avail. Internet Protocols all seem to be in order. Any suggestions for a fix?
