How to correct timesheet to apply to correct task?

Recalling timesheet, making changes and then resubmitting does not correctly
reflect the changes in the tasks. Resource reports time in timesheet on task
A. Task manager notes this is the incorrect task. Resource recalls times
sheet->zeros out hours from task A-> reenters hours in Task B->submits
timesheet->submits tasks. Task manager goes to approve task updates and the
time reported still displays in task A and no time displays in task B. So how
does the resource correct the time reported to the tasks?

There is no direct link between timesheets and tasks. There are four
options for moving task updates from timesheets to task updates:

1. User keys data into his/her timesheet, then goes to My Tasks and
duplicates the entry.

2. User keys data into his/her timesheet, then goes to My Tasks and
uses the Import Timesheet link at the top of the grid to copy data
over.

3. You install Timesheet Tied Mode from CodePlex (use the non-service
version found here http://www.codeplex.com/EPMTSST/Release/ProjectReleases.aspx?ReleaseId=14261,
rather than the more complex and prone-to-break service and event
handler version), which automates the transfer of data from timesheets
to task updates. WARNING: This is open-source code which is NOT
supported by Microsoft. You are on your own if you deploy this.

4. You install a 3rd party automation tool, like QuantumPM's "Just
Once" (http://www.quantumpm.com/Products). I have not used this tool,
but am familiar with Quantum and know them to be competent and
experienced. This is a tool you will have to pay for, but it is
supported.

There are two components here: The timesheet and the task update. Both
can be adjusted pretty easily.

Either the approver or the resource can change a timesheet.

For the approver, he/she can adjust a timesheet in
Approvals>Timesheet>Available timesheets to adjust. Click on the
Timesheet Name for the timesheet to be adjusted, then make changes and
Save.

For the resource, he/she can recall the timesheet in My Timesheets.
Just select the timesheet to be changed, click on the corresponding
Timesheet Name. Once on the timesheet itself, click on Actions>Recall
timesheet. Make changes then click Save and Submit.

Task updates can be made by the resource or the PM.

For the resource, go into My Tasks, update Actual Work and Remaining
Work to reflect the true values, select the entries, and click Submit
Selected.

For the PM, the best place to make changes to Actual Work or Remaining
Work is in Project Professiona>Task Usage (or Resource Usage).
