HOW TO COUNT RECORDS

S

S. Jackson

I am following the directions under MS Help to count the records contained
in my report:

"Open the report in Design view.
Add a calculated text box to the report header or footer.
Set the ControlSource property of the text box to =Count(*). This expression
uses the Count function to count all the records in the report even if some
fields in some records are Null. For information about the Count function,
click."

But, when I do this I get an Error. What in the world am I doing wrong!!!

To rant: I get so frustrated with Microsoft's help - it NEVER does what it
is suppose to do!!!! That is, first, if you can even find the help you need
and then provided you can figure out what it is telling you to do,

Sorry, I am so frustrated!

Did you place the control in the Report Footer?
It should work.

Did you place the control in the Page Footer?
That will get you an #Error.
