How to create a 11x17 Newsletter without printer support

I am trying to publish a newsletter 11x17 in microsoft word 2003 for my
church. I want to work on it at home, but I can't seem to get the margin
areas set to where I can type in the space above this area. It makes me
start typing way below the top edge of the paper. I don't want to print it
from my deskjet, I just want to type in my infomation and take the document
back to the church for print out. Is there a way I can type successfully in
this marginal area? I have windows xp and my printer is a canon ip4000.

Make the Microsoft Office Image Writer your default "printer" and set
the Printing Preferences paper size to Tabloid.
