How to create a new shape based on an existing shape?

I would like to create a new dynamic connector shape based on the existing
dynamic connector shape, but modified so that one end of the connector has
three "crow-feet" or "chicken feet" that are used to indicate a one-to-many
association in a logical data structure diagram. What I cannot find is a
general procedure for starting with any shape, making modifications, and
saving it with a new name.

Is this even possible in Visio?

God, this stencil is making me crazy. I simply want to create an ERD with
crows feet. I have entity1 and want to relate it one-to-many with entity2.
I don't want to deal with the Database Properties -- can't see how that's
useful when you're not really connected. I'm diagramming in a remote
location independent of the ODBC connections. When I try the connector tool
and drag from entity1 to entity2 the arrow is placed in the opposite
direction -- pointing back to entity1. Why does this happen? Then when I
try to change the line ends to the crow feet, they never change. I select
number 27, click Apply, and nothing happens. Then I go back into the dialog
and it's set to "no line ends."

So, my connectors seem to automatically be the reverse of what I want and
the line ends never change. This is so frustrating. If anyone can provide
any insight, I would be very grateful.

Thanks.
