How to create a schedule with tasks must start on a particular day

Scenario

We have a project plan consisting of 2500+ tasks and 50+ resources.
There are some tasks which must be start on a Friday, Some tasks mus
be start on Saturday, Some tasks must be start on a Saturday or Sunday
(We are using the EPM with MSP 2003)

Is there anyway to schedule those above mentioned types of tasks o
that particular days without changing the resource calendars or withou
setting up different task calendars.

To be more clear - While I am rescheduling/updating the plan, thos
tasks must start on those days only and not any other days (regardles
of date).

Doesn't sound like calendars will be able to achieve what you are looking
for. You could use a task constraint in Project to ensure the task started
on a specific date but from how I read your notes I take it you want the task
to be able to be automatically rescheduled (complying with your requirements)
when you make changes to the schedule.

I think your best alternative is use VBA in Project to capture when a new
task is created. You could then apply the logic you require to ensure the
start date for the "special" tasks only occurs on a specific day/s of the
week.

It is not possible to solve this without manipulating calendars, but you rule
that out in your requirements.

If you can relax your objection to using calendars, then a solution is
possible.
