Hi to all!

Just switched from PC to Mac a couple of weeks ago I'm now wondering how to set up a shared address book with entourage 2008.

In Outlook 2003 we've had a public folder containing all external addresses. This folder was set up as a default address book within Outlook -- so everyonne has had immediat access to the adresses when creating a new mail.

In Entourage 2008 (even in 2004) I'm missing that feature. Entourage will find addresses only after opening the public folder -- but not by default.

Is there any chance to have a default address book for all external adresses (internal addresses are stored in the global address book)?

Thanks for helping!

In Outlook 2003 we've had a public folder containing all external

Outlook -- so everyonne has had immediat access to the adresses when
creating a new mail.

In Entourage 2008 (even in 2004) I'm missing that feature. Entourage

Entourage will use the the local Address Book by default if your default
E-mail account is POP or IMAP. It will use your Exchange Contacts list
as your default address book if your Exchange account is the default.
You can not make a public folder address book your default because no
account is associated with it.

That being said, you don't need to make this your default address book
in Entourage to have immediate access to it while addressing messages.
Drag the public folder address book into your Subscribed Public Folders
folder within the Public Folders folder. This keeps the address book or
any other item synchronized with Entourage.

When you go to address new mail then Entourage will search this as well
as all your Address Books and Contacts lists and auto-complete as you
type more of the name.

The subscribed address book will also appear in your folders list in the
Address Book view for quick access.

Hope this helps!
