How to create condition for a required field

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Intel I have an order form and I want to set up a requirement that if the price column has a price in a cell then the ship date column must have a date in the same row as the price in order to print or save the worksheet

Let's assume that the Price is in cell E8 and the Ship Date is in F8.

Set the Data Validation for cell E8 to Custom and enter the formula =F8<>""

That will pop up an alert any time someone tries to enter anything in cell
E8 while F8 is blank.

See the Excel help topic "Restrict data entry" for more ...

Cheers

That's interesting: The web server munched the symbols from that formula.

The validation should be =F8 <> ""

Equals F8 is not equal to nothing.

Sorry about that!

Cheers

Many Thanks
