I created a few drop down list in a table but I can't
protect only the table, I could only protect the whole
document. Can anyone help me to protect only the table or
select section?

Ben,

You have to put a section break (page or continous using Insert>Break)
before your table, after your table, or bracket your table with two breaks
and then use the Tools>Protect Document command to protect the section
containing the table.
