How to create "live" headers?

Word 2008 Mac. I'd like the page header to always show the current
chapter title. How can I achieve this?

Hi Stefan,

to do that, you must first make sure that your chapter titles are
formatted with a style, e.g. "Heading 1". Once you've done that, place
the cursor in your header, then click on Insert>Field. In the window
that shows up, delete the equal sign that shows up in the text field,
then enter

STYLEREF "Heading 1"

Make sure STYLEREF is written in capital letters, and the quotation
marks around the style name need to be there as well. Click on OK, and
that should be it.

Hope this helps.
