How to create name plate for 2"x8" wall plate

I need to create a name template for door/wall plate that measures 2" x 8"
using Microsoft Word or PowerPoint.

Hello Sylvia,

I would recommend a quick and easy solution that I used for my company's
name plates.

I used the label option of Word and created a custom label with the
dimensions I needed. I added an image and selected the font to use, created a
full page of these labels and voila... (You can add a light gray border to
each label to help you cut them the right size.)
