How to create slide master

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)

I need a step-by-step how-to on creating slide masters using PowerPoint for Mac 2008. Can't figure it out.

I did look over some of the Help features, but it didn't help. There isn't anything that takes me through procedural steps on how to create a slide master and multiple slide masters. So couldn't figure out how to do it. I had to go back to my PC and do it with older version of PPT, then transfer the PPT to my Mac.

I have set up a slide master with an orange font in a text box, but when I close the master, my text still shows up grey in all of the slides...

Isn't there a place where I can go; or can someone give me info on how to create slide masters and multiple slide masters in one presentation? I've tried a couple of times on here, and have not received the help I need. HELP! Please...

There are several topics that should be useful for you, especially in the

I think the biggest challenge is that the concept of Slide Masters as used
in the past is not as prominent a concern in 2007/2008. I've had to wrap my
head around the program from a significantly different perspective since the
Themes & Smart Art features were introduced. If you approach more form that
direction it may make things easier.
