How to create updatable stencil master shapes based on excel sheets

Hi,

We have Microsoft excel named areas that contain excel tables (3 by 5
cells).

We want to create master shapes in stencils that represent the tables in our
excel sheets. When users change the table data in excel sheet, all instance
of the shapes in the stencil should be updated according to data/formatting
changes within excel sheet.

Is that possible?

Any help would be appreciated,

Visio has addins and wizards to link with database including excel.
You might study about them.
Or, you might make your own program that meet with your needs.

In the next version (visio12) the product supports many new data focused
enhancements. One of them is the ability to link shapes to data and control
how often they refresh from the original.
