How to create XML tags/schema

I'm a newbie to XML. I have used mail merge for several years and am thinking
it is very similar to it. However, after going through the online training
and reading some of the posts, I'm not sure HOW to create the tags.

One post said to ...

What's "CRM"?

FWIW, the mail merge technology built into Word does not support merging to an
XML data source. Mail Merge can work only with a "flat table" database, so an
XML file first has to be converted to that more traditional format. It can be
imported into Access or Excel, for example.

Cindy - Thanks for your response. I am not trying to mail merge an XML doc in
Word. In CRM the document needs to be XML for their mail merge. So since CRM
needs to have an XML document, I'm learning what I can about XML. That's why
I'm trying to figure out how to create tags. I can't find any templates in my
system for them. (At least, where I look I can't find)

Ah, OK.

In that case, I wouldn't try to use Word. Word is a really lousy XML Editor.
There are a number of them on the market, some free to download. You might try
the XML Notepad, for example.
