Hi Paula:
You cannot (and will not need to) "deactivate" it.
Depending on how you go about installing the operating system, it should
just remain there and work.
If you choose an "Erase and Install", that will remove it. In which case
you don't need to deactivate Office because it won't be there any longer
The Product Key is specific to a "machine". You can use a key as many times
as you like on the same machine. So if you do need to (or wish to...)
re-install, you should simply re-use the same key.

I am going to reinstall my OS x operating system and I need to find out before
I do it if the student version of Office 2004 on my computer can be
deactivated and then reactivated again after the O.S. is reinstalled. All of
the I.D. numbers have already been used.
