How to define a custom property category

S

Sandeep Sharma

Hi,

In word, when I go for inserting fields to a document, I
can choose it from a number of pre-defined categories.
Each category has some pre-defined fields to be used.

Now, I have defined some custom property from File-
properties->Custom (Tab). These properties can be
inserted (used) in the document as fieds which appear in
Insert->Field and Document Property.

I want that the custom properties I have defined in the
document should appear in a new custom category so that I
may always know the custom properties associated with the
document.
Is there some way out !!!

Thanks.
Sandeep

Hi Sandeep,

No way to do this using Word's built-in "Insert Field"
feature, no. Although you might want to submit it to the
wish list on microsoft.com :)

For this, I'd say you'd be better off rolling your own
interface, using VBA. You could place a dropdown on a
toolbar, for example. Or create a UserForm and put a button
to it in the Insert menu (even re-routing Word's internal
command, if you really wished to do so).
