How to define my own raising type of sequence

I have a chart that is supposed to be sorted with respect to the
values in the first column. The problem is that those values are
not alphabetically raising.

Suppose the values are "great", "well", "ok", "bad". How can i get
Excel to understand that the right raising sequence is "g, w, o, b"?

Konrad, first create a custom list. Tools > Options > Custom Lists > New
List. Type the list entries in proper order (great, well, ok, bad). Click
Add, then OK.

Next, sort your data using your custom list. Click in the data and Data >
Sort. Under Sort by: select the column and select Ascending. Then click
Options. Under First key sort order: select your custom list. Select Sort
top to bottom, then OK, OK.

Yes, that's working if the custom list is the primary key of
sorting. However, if it's placed second, it goes back to the
alphabetical order. So if i try to order after (1) quality and
then (b) after chapter number it's all right. But as soon as i
try to get the (1) chapter number and then (2) quality within
the current chapter, i can't make Excel sort the data according
to my custom list. Is it a bug or did i miss something?
