How to delete a message in the outbox in Outlook 2000.

How do I delete a email message in the Outbox in Outlook 2000? It just sits
there and won't let me send or delete. It states when I try to send or
delete that the message is in the Mapi spooler for transmission. Please help
and be very detailed, specific and user friendly.
