How to delete an Administrative Time category?

I have a legitimate need to delete an Administrative Time category
from the Server Settings page (Administrative Time option). However,
the darned option to delete categories "Delete Category" is constantly
greyed out. How in the world can that option be used? It appears
that even when I add a new fresh one, I can't turn around and
immediately delete it if it was added by mistake.

You cannot delete Administrative time categories. Once created, the system
will not allow you to delete them to preserver historical data (even if
there is NO historical data). The best you can do is to hide the unneeded
Administrative time category. Hope this helps.

Then why in the world is there a Delete button anyway? Shouldn't the
system be smart enough to know whether or not the category is being
used?
Sorry, but it doesn't make sense to me.
Can you rename it?

"Ours is not to question why, but to do or die"...:))) Maybe MSFT thinks
users need to believe in the above creed...

Seriously, one cannot delete the Admin category as I also found out after
creating it. So even if you inadvertently mispelled it, the category will
remain to haunt you for ever...But like Dale said, it is easy to not let it
show up anywhere else by just using the hide option.
