How to delete an assignment

Hi,

How can we delete a resource assignment on a task (by the Replace feature in
the Assign Resource dialog in Project Pro) without keeping the deleted
assignement remaining in the Timesheet of the resource.
Thanks ahead!

If you want to totally replace the resource on the assignment, which
ultimately transfers actuals to the new resources, then do this:

1. Select the task in question
2. Click Window - Split
3. In the lower viewing pane, select the pick list button for the existing
resource and then select a new resource
4. Click the OK button

Hope this helps.

Thanks Dale,
I used the Replace feature in the Assign Resource dialog in Project Pro
because I expected to keep the Actuals of the former resource. But, as the
former resource doesn't have any remaining work on that assignement, I
expected that this assignement will disappear from the resource Timesheet.
What is the best way to do that?
Thanks again.

I don't understand what you are trying to accomplish. Do you want to keep
the team member's actuals or not?

If the task is completed and you don't want the team member to see it any
more, tell him/her to either to select the task and click the Hide button on
his/her timesheet, or to select the Current Tasks option in the sidepane.
If you want to remove all of the team member's tasks from his/her timesheet,
open the Build Team dialog, set the team member's Booking value to Proposed,
click OK, and then publish New and Changed Assignments. Hope this helps.

Dale,
I just want to keep the actuals of the former resource, but the resource
doesn't want to keep this old assignment in his timesheet, with the large X
as "deleted". The Current Task option doesn't hide this deleted assignment.
