How to delete Duplicate assignments ...

Hi

While trying to publish a project one of our project manager gets the
spooler error 0x80004005.
After doing the publish each assignment wise , I narrowed down the
problem to one assignment. When I go into SQL and see the
MSP_WEB_ASSIGNMENTS I can see that there are two entried for the
problematic assignment.

My question is how should I fix this problem. Do I need to back up this
project and re-import this project in project server.

Or can I directly delete some rows from the msp_web_assignments and
related tables. ( I don't want to take this route)
