How to designate a user as a PM for a specific project in Project Server 2003?

To Project server gurus/experts:

Consider a scenario where I the administrator published a project plan
on belhaf of a project manager (PM). How I can still designate that
person as the PM so s/he can received alerts of task updates by
resources as well as be able to request Status Reports, etc? Right
now, all task alerts are going to the Administrator since he is the
one who published the project plan.

Of course had the user published the project himself, he would
automatically become the PM

Note that adding the Project Manager security role to that user does
not help. Making that user the "Owner" in the Project Center screen
does not help either.

Please advice!
Thanks!

To do this, I usually "hijack" the PM's account:

1. Turn PM's AD account into a Project Server account & save
2. Reset password on PM's new Project Server account & save
3. Create project server account for the PM in MS Project (I have a
standard account where I just need to change the user name)
4. Log onto MS Project with the PM's Project Server credentials
5. Republish the assignments (see Dale's FAQ link)
6. Return PM's AD account.

Note that step 1 and 2 need to be done individually. PWA does not seem
to be able to do this in one go.
