How to determine path of movie

S

Could some kind soul please explain to me how I can determine the
paths of movies in the new PPT (powerpoint:mac 2008)?
Is it possible at all?
I suppose, the same problem exists for PPT 2007 on windows ...

(I had to restructure some of the folders where my movies lived in,
and now I need to determine the paths in the PPT presentations so that
I can re-insert them.)

Any hints, pointers, tips will be highly appreciated.

Regards,
Gabriel.

If you are looking for a way to play with animation paths, it is
unfortunately a feature we don;t have in Office 2008,

Hi,

I think the question relates to determining the path of movies that are
linked to a presentation.

If there is Edit > Links in PowerPoint 2008, then you can use that
feature. This does not exist in PowerPoint 2004, and I don't know if it
is in 2008.

However, if you use File > Save As and choose to save as a PowerPoint
package, then PowerPoint should make a new folder with copies of all
linked media and set the links to relative (as opposed to the entire
file path being stored). That way you can find all your media.

The latest update broke this feature, though, so you'll have to wait for
another update to fix it again.

well, that is at least half-way there.

I've got presentation with several tens of movies linked into it.
For some reason, I need to determine the file name of a few of these
movies.

Can you open the presentation in any PC version of PPT or in Mac PPT 2004 or
earlier?

If so, this little macro should help:

Show me the link and let me edit it

It's a bit PCcentric in that it assumes your file has a . + extension at the
end of the file name.
