how to determine the error when an address doesn't resolve

I'm trying to access outlook from another office app (Word). I sometimes
have trouble with the .ResolveAll when sending an email to a list of people
(internal to our organization, so using an exchange global address book).
At those times I run through the list of recipients and try to resolve each
one individually. I eventually find the one which will not resolve, but I
can't seem to find a property which will tell me why it won't resolve.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what might give me more information? This
is a name which resolves for most people in our organization, but not a
particular user when she tries to generate this email.

Thanks.

There's no additional information that's available as to why resolution
failed on a recipient.

Does the user see that entry in the GAL? What happens if that user tries to
manually address an email to that recipient and uses the Alt+K or Ctrl+K
shortcuts to resolve the recipient, does it resolve (get underlined)?

Thanks for the reply.

I even know why some of the time: they have a person, who is in our global
address list, also in their contacts list, so outlook can't tell which "John
Smith" I'm trying to send to. That's not the only reason unfortunately, and
I don't yet know the others.

No, as far as I know the error doesn't show up any where, although I don't
know what a GAL is?
