How to determine what version is installed

I am trying to determine whether MS Office, Office Pro or standalone products
are installed. Under Office 97 and 2000 it was fairly simple...I could just
look for the existence of msoffice.exe in the relevant directory, but this
file does not install with XP or 2003.

Is there another file that will always get installed with every installation
of Office that will tell me a) if the software came from an Office CD rather
than a Word, PPT, etc CD and b) whether it is Office Pro or Std?

Thanks

In an Office 2003 app, go to Help/About. Mine here says "Part of MS Office
Pro Edition 2003." I presume it would specify an individual install as well.

Dunno about Office XP apps, though. I do know the Office info on the
Help/About tab is new to Office 2003.

Thanks. However I want to do this programatically. I am actually using a
Peregrine tool but that seems to require msoffice.exe else it just records
the individual apps.
