Kristy

I have uninstalled the antivirus application, that is when I began receiving
*.doc is not available and wants to save a Normal.doc. Although I do have
Mcafee Antivirus and personal firewall plus. Could those programs have
something to do with my delmina? If so PLEASE help, I cannot fail my
undergrad classes due to a stupid mistake!!! Be it the programs fault or mine.

Sincerely (need help)

Kristy

If Norton Antivirus was ever installed on your computer and then
uninstalled, it might have left behind part of the program.

In Windows Explorer, use the Search button and look for a file named
officeav.dll. If you find it, make a note of the exact path to the
file and the folder it's in, something like

c:\program files\norton antivirus\officeav.dll

The path might be different, depending on which Norton product
installed it.

[Note: If you don't find the file, then the problem isn't with Norton,
and I'm not aware of a similar problem with McAfee products.]

If you found the file and have its path, open the Start menu, click
Run, and type in the following command, adjusting the path to match
what you found:

regsvr32 /u "c:\program files\norton antivirus\officeav.dll"

Be sure to include the spaces before and after /u and the double
quotes around the path\filename. Click OK and wait for a message box
saying that the dll has been unregistered.
